Autumn is well underway with acorns and conkers falling from the trees, hornbeam leaves starting to change into their yellow autumnal best and the first fly agaric spotted this week. Get out into the forest to spot and photograph the amazing fungi that is growing now.
We welcome Graham, the Leopard Gecko to our Suntrap animal collection. He will be very useful when teaching about classification, adaptation and ectotherms. He seems to have settled in well and is enjoying catching the crickets in his tank. He is a very lively youngster but we will be handling him daily to get him used to it! Did you know that their tail can come off if grabbed by a predator giving them time to escape? |
