Friends of Suntrap
We support the work of Suntrap Forest Education Centre through running events for families, looking after the Suntrap animals and conservation work days.
Alongside this work, we raise funds to enhance children's experience whilst at Suntrap.
Since 2001, Friends of Suntrap have raised funds to support many activities and resources at Suntrap Forest Education Centre, including;
All-terrain wheelchair - so that all children can enjoy learning right in the heart of the forest with their school or family.
Create a wildflower meadow - transforming an inaccessible area of bramble and thistle on our camping field. Started in 2017, thank you to Tesco Groundwork community fund.
|
Picnic benches made out of recycled material - creating an outdoor classroom to look at pond animals or for lunchtime.
Beekeeping near our meadow - Setting up bee hives to improve pollination of the local area and to give children an opportunity to learn something new.
Starting in early 2018 - thank you to Co-op local community fund. |
